I just made another simple dress for my baby gaga. Just like the first one I posted here, it was made from scraps. I had to cut my long pants into short so I thought of making my baby a dress out of its scrap.
My mother is a dressmaker in profession but I am not. But since I was a child I have seen and followed her simple procedures of making dresses. Did some for my own and my children.
OUTCOME
- You're first dress should be an easy simple one.
- You may mess up on your first tries but as you are learning you'll get better.
- Find the right pattern. (I don't do pattern. My clothes or my baby's clothes are my pattern.)
- Gather your supplies, a needle, scissor, thread, fabric, measuring tape, etc.
- Take a fabric and scissor. Fold the fabric in half. Make sure that sides are even.
- NECK HOLE. At the top, cut a half circle slightly larger than your baby's head.
- Sew the sides together. You can use a sewing machine or you can just manually stitch the sides together using a thread and a needle. Be careful.
- Make sure to start below and where the separated ends are. Do not sew all the way up. Leave a space for the arms/sleeves.
- Fold and sew all the open sides from the neck hole, arms and lower part of the dress.
- And you're done. So easy, isn't it?
